Biography:
Katie Spengler is finishing up her BS
in Informatics with a minor in Art at the University
at Buffalo.
At UB, she took on a job as Web Programming
Student Assistant in the Computing Center. There, she got her real start in the
world of PHP and networking and the like.
In her informatics classes she's been
learning PHP and SQL queries for building database-driven
websites. The art classes that she's taken are all
digital art classes ranging from basic Photoshop
techniques to programming with ActionScript 3.0 in
Flash.
With these skills she got a job at Noein
(a web development company) in Amherst, New York.
There she takes the graphic designer’s layouts and
breaks them down to turn them into code with HTML
and CSS. She has created some icons for websites and
a made a few amateur sites of her own. She has created dozens
of online forms for various sites including some of
UB’s sites during her time as Web Programming Student
Assistant there.
In the near future she plans on taking more art classes
and maybe finding a design internship/job.
She also plans on attending graduate school after recieving
her bachelor's degree.
